I looked up OpenDNS earlier today to confirm some stories I’ve been hearing about enhancing Internet connections. OpenDNS claims to give better speed once you connect to it’s nameservers. Every little thing helps, right? So hell, I gave it a shot. 5 minutes later, with my DNS changed and all, everything was going well… Until I visited a blogspot blog!
Google gave me this message:

Here’s the text so you don’t have to squint at the picture too much.
… but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can’t process your request right now.
We’ll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, if you suspect that your computer or network has been infected, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your systems are free of viruses and other spurious software.
If you’re continually receiving this error, you may be able to resolve the problem by deleting your Google cookie and revisiting Google. For browser-specific instructions, please consult your browser’s online support center.
If your entire network is affected, more information is available in the Google Web Search Help Center.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we’ll see you again on Google.
The Google Sorry message is a common problem, especially if you do a lot of funky stuff with the search engine or when you are assigned dynamic IP address and still a lot of funky stuff. But it can also appear in harmless queries. My problem was quickly solved by reverting back to my default ISP DNS… *Sigh* Can’t have it all…
