Miss AlbaniaWhile strolling around Robinsons Ermita yet again with my siblings during our monthly day out, I was able to catch a glimpse of some (if not all) of the Miss Earth 2008 candidates. Yeah! I wasn’t able to take any pictures because no one brought a camera and my poor 2 mega pixel camera phone was already giving me warning signals that it was about to die! Doh!

Miss Earth – An Introduction

For those not familiar with the Miss Earth Beauty pageant here’s a quick rundown courtesy of the Miss Earth website:

Because many people admire and aspire to be a beauty queen, Carousel Productions, Inc. believed beauty queens would be a good and effective advocate of worthy causes. To give life to this vision, Carousel organized and launched in 2001 the MISS EARTH® Beauty Pageant, a beauty event whose raison d’etre was to have its candidates and winners actively promote and get involved in the preservation of the environment and the protection of Mother Earth. (From Miss Earth’s About Page)

The Miss Earth pageant is set to culminate at the Clark Expo Amphitheater, Pampanga on the 9th of November and will be covered by ABS-CBN Channel 2. The Filipino Channel (TFC) subscribers outside the Philippines will also be able to view the delayed telecast of the pageant.
