Wordpress 2.7While browsing through the wp-testers digests, I keep seeing the word “wireframe”. I can’t keep the word fly-by-wire out of my mind. It’s my Attention Deficeit Disorder (ADD) kicking in again. Hahaha! I quickly queried Mr. Google with the following keywords: wordpress 2.7 wireframe and started my quest to quickly fill my brain with as many facts before it’s attention wanders off yet again in search for prettier pictures…

The Wordpress 2.7 Wireframe can be compared to a building blueprint. It help designers, developers and end users visualize the finished product, which in this case is the upcoming release of Wordpress 2.7. The Wordpress wireframe serves as a guide for development, not a dictate(Jane Wells). Developers can and will deviate from the original designs if a better mix can be mashed together to improve the current design.

The current Wordpress wireframe is free to download but may not be the very latest and greatest. Although it’s enough to whet any Wordpress user’s appetite for more Wordpress goodness!

I uploaded and installed yesterday’s nightly build to my site’s Wordpress testing domain, you can register and play with it to experience the almost beta Wordpress 2.7. I have to warn you though, my test Wordpress 2.7 is NOT the beta and does not reflect the latest and greatest build. So if you’re turned off by the visuals or broken modules, you have been warned. Hehehe!

SEO rank going up, up, up and up!

All things SEO have been good so far. I just checked with Website Grader and my site is currently graded at 89! Woohoo! From a measly 40+ 3 weeks ago to a respectable 89! All that Digging and Stumbling really helps! I already surpassed Yummy Silicon Chips (my 2 year old trying-hard tech blog) in Alexa! But Yummy has the advantage of a Google host with a better PageRank and TechCrunch rating. Poor Yummy… I’ll give it something new someday… Hahaha!

Another Quick SEO tip for Wordpress users!

Avoid the duplicate content penalty that Google imposes! Include the following code into your theme’s header.php:

<?php
    if(is_home() || is_single() || is_page()){
        echo '<meta name="robots" content="index,follow" />';
    }
    else{
        echo '<meta name="robots" content="noindex,follow" />';
    }
?>

In effect, you’re telling the bots to crawl your homepage, single pages, and post. Everything else is ignored! So much for duplicate content!
