Texas to ban Salvia Divinorum! Careful kids!
Often used as a legal alternative to Marijuana, Salvia Divinorum is a psychoactive herb which can induce strong dissociative effects and has been used for centuries in Mexico for spiritual and healing purposes.
Salvia Divinorum has a long and continuing tradition of use as an entheogen by indigenous Mazatec shamans, who use it to facilitate visionary states of consciousness during spiritual healing sessions. In short, getting high.
Fearing the plant’s unregulated use, Texas State Representative Doc Anderson has filed legislation to ban the possession of Salvia Divinorum. The Texas Rep even appeared on Dr. Phil stated that:
The substance is dangerous, incapacitating, and serves no medical use whatsoever…[and] has possible dangerous health effects and is unregulated in Texas.
Prohibited Drug Usage = EPIC FAIL and never cool. Dont.

If they ban Salvia, people will just get it through drug dealers or turn to marijuana and then the drug dealers will offer them harder stuff with much worse side effects.
Salvia’s never hurt anyone and if it becomes illegal it’ll become a gateway drug!

Exactly! Regulated sale like tobacco and alcohol would allow responsible adults to make informed choices about what they put into their bodies.
Well said!
