Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport has welcomed two new dining options in Terminal 2: Trader Vic’s and Plum Market. The two locations, operated by Hudson, offer passengers a range of food and drink choices, from sit-down meals to grab-and-go options.

Trader Vic’s, an Oakland-born restaurant brand, has opened a location near Gate 25 with seating for over 100 guests. The restaurant offers a full-service menu, a cocktail program, and merchandise developed specifically for passengers traveling through the airport.

Plum Market, located adjacent to Trader Vic’s, offers prepared meals, salads, sandwiches, soups, and grab-and-go food. The market also features products from Northern California suppliers, beverages, and wellness essentials.

The openings are part of the airport’s expanded passenger dining program, which aims to improve terminal amenities and introduce businesses with regional connections. According to the airport’s announcement, the new locations will provide passengers with a more distinctive local experience.

Trader Vic’s has a strong connection to the Bay Area, having been founded in Oakland by Victor “Trader Vic” Bergeron. The brand is known for its island-inspired food and the Original Mai Tai, which dates back to 1944. The airport location combines this heritage with the practical requirements of an airside location.

Rhett Rosen, CEO of Trader Vic’s Hospitality Group, described the airport location as particularly meaningful due to the brand’s Bay Area origins. Craig Simon, the Port of Oakland’s Director of Aviation, pointed to the combination of a recognizable Oakland hospitality name and a contemporary fresh-food market as a way of bringing local character into the passenger journey.

The opening ceremony for the two locations was attended by Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee, US Representative Lateefah Simon, California Assemblymember Mia Bonta, and Port of Oakland Board President Stephanie Dominguez Walton, among others. Guests sampled menu items, heard a live ukulele performance, and joined a non-alcoholic Mai Tai-themed workshop.

The event marked the opening of two operational concessions, adding another option for passengers using Terminal 2. The new locations are part of the airport’s continuing effort to broaden its food and retail program through partnerships with established brands and regional businesses.

Passengers can find more information about terminal facilities, including the new Trader Vic’s and Plum Market locations, on the airport website. They can visit the website to learn more about the airport’s dining options and plan their trip accordingly. The airport’s website provides a full guide to the terminal’s amenities and services.
