voco Karjat will join the premium segment of the hospitality market after a management agreement was signed, adding more than 200 rooms to the portfolio of a global hotel group.

New Premium Hotel Planned for Emerging Destination

The town sits in the foothills of the Sahyadri mountain range, roughly 62 km from Mumbai and 102 km from Pune, making it a convenient spot for short getaways and corporate retreats.

Conversion work is slated for completion by early 2028, turning an existing property into a branded offering that targets both leisure guests and meetings‑in‑city (MICE) traffic.

Guests will find three food‑and‑drink venues: a 200‑seat all‑day dining restaurant, a 50‑seat pool bar, and a 150‑seat rooftop space designed for events.

Additional facilities include a fitness centre, spa, parking, pet‑friendly rooms, a children’s zone and an on‑site salon, creating a broad appeal for families, wedding parties and business groups.

Brand and Market Context

According to the announcement, the destination’s scenic setting, proximity to major urban markets and rising demand for experience‑focused travel made it attractive for a branded entry.

“The area is developing into an exciting leisure market,” said Sudeep Jain, Managing Director for South West Asia. “Proximity to the two metros creates a strong opportunity to serve growing demand for weekend travel, weddings, celebrations and MICE.”

The brand’s model blends the individuality of a single hotel with the consistency and reach of a worldwide network, giving owners flexibility while tapping into the group’s distribution and loyalty platform.

Since its launch, the brand has reached 100 open hotels worldwide within seven years, while the group operates 53 hotels across seven brands in India and has a pipeline of 110 openings slated for the next three to five years.

Officials noted that the partnership aligns with a broader plan to expand the premium segment through both new builds and conversions, leveraging the group’s commercial expertise and loyalty ecosystem.

The upcoming property aims to open its doors in early 2028, offering a blend of local charm and global standards that the management team hopes will attract both domestic and international visitors.
