The 130-room hotel in Witney is scheduled to open by the end of 2026.

Hyatt’s JdV by Hyatt brand is entering the UK market for the first time with a new property in Witney, a charming market town in Oxfordshire. The 130-room hotel, currently undergoing renovation, will become part of the brand’s lineup by the end of 2026. The agreement between Hyatt and CL Capital’s affiliate was finalized on September 10, with InnPractice, selected by CL Capital, set to manage operations once the transition is complete.

The hotel’s prime location, just steps from Witney’s historic center and roughly 15 miles west of Oxford, positions it as an ideal stopover for visitors balancing time between Oxford’s academic hub and the scenic Cotswolds. Design elements will draw inspiration from Witney’s wool industry roots and the Arts & Crafts movement, merging local heritage with contemporary comforts.

Beyond accommodations, the property will feature a restaurant and bar that prioritize locally sourced ingredients, alongside 1,205 square feet of adaptable event space accommodating up to 90 attendees. Witney itself boasts attractions like its twice-weekly market, the Corn Exchange cultural venue, and Cogges Manor Farm, a recognizable set from Downton Abbey. Nearby Oxford, Blenheim Palace, and the Cotswolds further enhance the region’s travel appeal.

Hyatt’s regional vice president for development in the UK and Ireland, Anna Corkill, stated the project aligns perfectly with Witney’s character. She highlighted the partnership with CL Capital and InnPractice as key to crafting a space that mirrors the town’s identity. Graham Norris, InnPractice’s managing partner, called the collaboration a defining opportunity for both the brand and the community, noting the potential for the hotel to integrate seamlessly into local life.

Renovation plans emphasize preserving Witney’s traditional craftsmanship while updating facilities to meet modern standards. While no further specifics on the opening schedule have been shared, updates will be provided as the project progresses.

The development shows Hyatt’s strategy to expand its portfolio in emerging markets, leveraging local partnerships to create destinations that resonate with their surroundings. This marks the first UK venture for the JdV by Hyatt brand, with the Witney property serving as a model for future projects in the region.
