Royalton revamps Jamaica resorts with tech upgrades and family-friendly returns

Royalton Hotels & Resorts has reopened all five of its Jamaica properties, welcoming guests back to resorts in Negril and Montego Bay after a major overhaul of rooms, public spaces, and guest services. The full portfolio—Royalton Negril, Royalton Hideaway Negril, Grand Lido Negril, Royalton Blue Waters, and Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters—now operates with redesigned accommodations and upgraded technology aimed at modern travelers.

The refresh includes newly styled guestrooms and suites across all five locations, paired with digital enhancements like interactive in-room televisions, resort-wide high-speed Wi-Fi (including beach coverage), and mobile apps for seamless navigation. Pre-arrival tools, such as Online Room Selection, let guests pre-book accommodations and complete pre-check-in to reduce wait times. In the coming months, an AI-powered concierge will further integrate into the digital experience.

Negril’s offerings now span three distinct concepts. Royalton Negril caters to families and multigenerational groups with nine restaurants, seven bars, multiple pools, a children’s splash park, and an outdoor theater hosting live performances. Royalton Hideaway Negril, an adults-only retreat, emphasizes connection through shared dining, entertainment, and amenities from the main resort while maintaining private beachfront pools and swim-out suites. The Book 1, Enjoy 2 concept allows guests to access both properties’ facilities.

Grand Lido Negril stands apart as an intimate, all-inclusive adults-only resort focused on seclusion and natural immersion, offering a rare level of privacy in a beachfront setting. In Montego Bay, Royalton Blue Waters returns as a lively beachfront hub with nine restaurants, a lazy river, a pirate-themed water park, and nightly outdoor theater shows. Families and groups can also enjoy a kids’ club, teen disco nights, and water activities.

Adjacent, Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters provides a quieter escape with 352 suites, dedicated adults-only spaces, and a private offshore islet. Like its Negril counterpart, it operates under the Book 1, Enjoy 2 model, granting access to Royalton Blue Waters’s amenities while preserving its own tranquil atmosphere.

Sustainability efforts include reinstalled solar panels at Royalton Negril and Royalton Blue Waters, expected to generate over 634,000 kWh of renewable energy annually. During the closure, the resorts’ infrastructure supported local emergency water and electricity needs, aiding community recovery.

Looking ahead, Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove, an adults-only lifestyle resort, will open in summer 2027, marking the first Royalton CHIC property in Jamaica. Reservations for all current resorts and the upcoming opening are available through RoyaltonResorts.com.
